Grimsby Pipe Band

Pipe Major: Gordon Scott
Pipe Sergeant: Theressa Scott
Treasurer: David Janaszek
Band Secretary: John Dinsmore

The Grimsby Pipe Band was formed in 1999 by a group of individuals who were fond of the music of the great highland bagpipe and drums. They met initially at St John’s Presbyterian Church and one of the pipers was the minister, the Rev Bob Doherty. They gradually attracted more pipers and drummers, both experienced and beginning, and under the leadership of Gordon Scott, who had learned to play pipes in the Dofasco Pipe Band, began playing as the Grimsby Pipe Band.

The band marks the twentieth year in 2019. They play together throughout southern Ontario at community events and parades. Practices are held twice a week at John Knox Christian School in Vineland. The Pipe Major is Gordon Scott.
